Former nominated senator Joy Adhiambo Gwendo is serving two and a half years in jail after Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti found her guilty of “hoodwinking the court.” The former legislator entered into a plea bargain with the state but could not honour it. Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet’s driver allegedly took his own life on December 9, 2018 while on sick leave. The deceased, Anthony Lemayan Lenkisol was at Mwamba, an estate on the outskirts of Narok Town, at the time of the incident. The Association of Civilian Gun owners has moved to court to challenge the directive made by CS Fred Matiang’i, for all civilian gun holders to undergo fresh vetting. The association filed the petition at Milimani Law Courts on Thursday, seeking to suspend CS Matiang’i’s order until their case is heard and determined. They are challenging the order to suspend the licence of the shooting range in Gitata Farm at Kirigiti, Kiambu, arguing that the move is illegal. Former Ruaraka OCS Nahashon Mutua has been convicted with the murder of an inmate on December 19, 2013. While making the ruling, Justice Stella Mutuku noted that the deceased, Martin Koome was not assaulted by fellow inmates but by the accused person. “The Prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the deceased was assaulted in the cell…..The accused misused his authority under the Constitution,” she said. Popular actor Jamal Nassul “Baba Junior” lost his life on Tuesday evening in a domestic scuffle which turned tragic. Nassul was allegedly killed by a significant partner, identified as Grace Kanamu Namulo after a disagreement which led to his death. The Grand Manor Hotel in Nairobi’s Gigiri area has been demolished. The hotel owned by tycoon Praful Kumar was descended upon by Sany at 3 am in the morning. President Uhuru Kenyatta lit up the mood at Nyayo Stadium after the Jamhuri day celebrations when he stopped to salute his wife and other leaders including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Former President Daniel Arap Moi is currently at the Nairobi Hospital. Kenya’s second head of state is set to undergo a routine medical check up. In March, Moi, 94 was flown to Israel for treatment on his knee. Three people died on Wednesday morning as the car they were travelling in, Registration Number KCP 606Z lost control along Mbagathi Way. Witnesses say that in the car were three female occupants.
