Ms Kanamu has however come out to deny the allegations, claiming that Jamal’s death was an accident and it was not her intent to kill him.

“Mr Gadafi accidentally fell on the kitchen knife when the argument we were having got heated. It’s not true that I killed him,” she stated.

She says that she “stumbled upon Mr Gaddafi writhing in pain after he fell on a kitchen knife.”

According to reports by the police, Ms Kanamu wounded Jamal in the chest with a kitchen knife.

“It was reported that Jamal Nassul Gaddafi (39), was having a party at Arks Hotel near 67 Airport Hotel on the night of December 11, 2018. There was a quarrel between him and his friend Grace Kanamu Namulo (40). She picked a knife and stabbed him,” read the police report.

The two are said to have gotten into an argument at Arks Hotel near 67 Airport hotel, causing them to step out to a butchery that is owned by Mr Jamal.

She was almost lynched by revelers who arrived at the scene but was saved by security guards at the hotel.

“They [party-goers] wanted to lynch her, but security guards at the hotel managed to whisk her to safety. The suspect was locked in a room in the hotel before police from Mlolongo post were alerted,” a journalist privy to the details said.

An hour later, police arrived at the scene and whisked Ms Kanamu to Mavoko Police Station where she is being detained.
