The Supreme Court on Friday revoked the acquittal of two Iranians convicted of terror-related charges by the High Court in 2013. Ahmad Mohammed and Sayed Mousavi will be held in police custody until determination of appeal by the state. The journalist has been in the middle of Monica Nyawira Kimani’s murder investigation after her fiance Joseph Kuria Irungu aka Jowie was linked to the gruesome murder of the 28 year old businesswoman. Unknown people on Friday morning set on fire a lorry belonging to Kitui county Deputy Governor Wathe Nzau. The lorry was parked at his Mwingi town residence when the arsonists set ablaze the lorry’s rear tyres. According to the deputy governor, he has been receiving threats starting March when the governor, Charity Ngilu banned charcoal burning and transportation. “Since March, we’ve been parking this lorry at the police station after receiving numerous threats. Jacque Maribe has been spotted at Kilimani Police Station after being ‘wanted’ by the police in connection to the murder of Monica Kimani. A 10 year old girl from Namibia is nursing severe burns after her stepmother, 36-year-old Pafunisia Mwadhina Josua poured boiling water on her. It is reported that the girl was hit with a belt buckle and had a knife thrown at her, before the stepmother poured hot water on her, for allegedly forgetting to switch off a geyser. Migori Governor Zachary Okoth Obado has been denied bail. Justice Jessie Lessit has ordered that the county chief remains in remand until October 8, 2018. “At this juncture I am disallowing the application and he will appear with the others on October 8th,” Justice Lessit said. He and his co-accused Caspal Obiero will be remanded at the Industrial Area prison for a further twelve nights. A woman has been accused of drugging and stealing from unsuspecting revellers mainly in Kisumu, Nakuru, Diani, Nairobi and Mombasa. The woman, Joyce Britney Njoki Kangethe alias Nancy resides in Nairobi’s Donholm Harambee Sacco Estate.
