A woman has been accused of drugging and stealing from unsuspecting revellers mainly in Kisumu, Nakuru, Diani, Nairobi and Mombasa.

The woman, Joyce Britney Njoki Kangethe alias Nancy resides in Nairobi’s Donholm Harambee Sacco Estate.

She was recently arrested after she stole from a senior government official who reported the matter to the Kiambu Police Station under OB Number 27/31/08/2018.

Nancy has since been released on a Sh200,000 bail.

Sources say that she hangs around popular clubs in the company of others.

“They target phones, laptops and ATM cards where they transfer money and withdraw at agents,” a source intimated.

In March, a group of five from Nairobi county was nabbed by police in a guest house in Mtwapa, Kilifi County.

The suspects; James Ng’ang’a, Joice Gituko, Susan Gachuka, Pauline Wanjiru and Ann Wambui were found with valuables worth over Ksh600, 000; including more than 100 stolen mobile phones, laptops and DVD players.

The police said they had been targeting high class men in various night clubs, drugging and robbing them after reaching their houses.

“We recovered the type of drugs they use to fleece people and are taking them to the government chemist to establish of what type they are. They target everything in one’s house; not just cash, they even steal stationery, bedding and cutlery. When you take them back to your house, they will drug you and leave you there but make away with everything else,” said Kilifi DCIO Christopher Chesoli.
