Police HQ has summoned officers taped making calls and demanding for people to attend Prophet David Owuor’s two day healing crusade at Uhuru Park. The officers have been asked to show cause why disciplinary measures should not be taken against them. Police HQ has apparently demanded to know why they campaigned against medication and called for people to go to Owuor for healing. Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has launched investigations into the alleged mistreatment of local employees by the Chinese company that operates the standard gauge rail (SGR). China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) management has been accused of discrimination and blatant discrimination against Kenyan workers. The accident involved a 14-seater Lina Sacco matatu and a personal car. The Switzerland President, signed an agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta that will see his country join Kenya in the ongoing war against graft. President Alain Berset promised to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta to return all stolen assets to the country. A group of University of Nairobi (UoN) students are wanted by the police after they attacked Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) doctors on Saturday night. The 10 students failed to appear before Milimani Principal Magistrate Peter Ooko on Monday who then ordered for their arrest. Some of the attackers; William Nyongesa, George Owuor, Samwel Ogwang, Brian Otieno, Michael Otieno and Ronny Ridaya are said to have assaulted doctors Ismail Hassan, Ali Mahad and Namisi Belinda. Junior government officers and members of the of the Ngirita Family are unable to raise bail money and securities as was required by the High Court. Justice Hedwig Ong’udi in June ordered the National Youth Service (NYS) Sh.468 million suspects to present a bond of Sh.5 million, produce sureties of Sh.2 million each and deposit cash bail of Sh.1 million in court. Makueni Boys High School on Saturday had its student council elections conducted by the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). According to commissioner Ibrahim Guyo, the free exercise was some sort of a CSR exercise as the school was their county tallying centre. “The School being our County tallying Center we felt there was a need to give back to the school,” said Guyo. Wilbroda Barasa from Busia has sued Michael Omukule on for unlawfully damaging her inner panty valued at Sh.100. Mr Emukule was arrested on February 18 and charged with the offense of unlawfully damaging Ms Baraza’s underwear contrary to section 339 (1) of the penal code. The British High Commission in Kenya celebrated Gay Pride Day at their Nairobi office on Friday by flying the Rainbow flag in support of Equality and Pride of the LGBTQ community. Back in 2016, UK’s Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, lifted a ban on UK embassies and high commissions to fly the Rainbow flag during gay pride events.
