An illustrious Nakuru businessman abducted on 1 December, 2017 on his way home from work was murdered by his wife through guns for hire, a Nakuru court heard. Julius Kimani Mathu of Kim Net was making his way home at around 12.20 am on the said day; and his lifeless body discovered the next day by his brothers at a cemetery in Nakuru. An ambulance driver is said to have caused an accident on December 11, along Embu-Siakago road where he failed to give way to another vehicle. Erick Joseph Njagi was charged with ‘careless driving contrary to section 49 (1) of the Traffic Act. The Matunda Bus Company vehicle that killed over 36 people on Sunday, December 31 along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway was reported to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) back in September. The bus was involved in a head on collision with a trailer, REG NO KBK 907C ‘in the extreme left climbing lane.’ Preliminary reports indicate that the bus was over speeding and using the wrong lane. Over 30 people lost their lives on New Year’s eve after a bus belonging to Matunda bus company heading to Nairobi collided with a trailer that as headed to Eldoret. The horrific accident happened at Migaa, some 10km from Salgaa. 21 people are aid to have survived the morning accident and are fighting for their lives at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital and Molo Sub-County Hospital. ”Our ambulance teams responded to the scene and evacuated 18 casualties to Molo and Nakuru hospitals.
