The Interior Ministry in a ‘pathetic and unpleasant’ manner might have lost Sh175 million while procuring police shoes, the Auditor General, Edward Ouko has said. Uasin Gishu county assembly representatives on Thursday passed a motion that will see supermarkets in the county provide customers with free carrier bags following the August plastic bags ban. County assemblies that are found to have funded the People’s assemblies activities will be ‘surcharged,’ Attorney General Githu Muigai has said. He has warned county assemblies that have adopted the motion against funding the ‘treasonable’ act the NASA coalition plans on undertaking on December 12. The Employment and Labour Relations court has blocked Kenya Airways (KQ) from replacing the 131 technical staff dismissed last week following an ‘illegal’ industrial action. The staff had gone on a go slow last week over 840 per cent pay increase.
