17 restaurants in Machakos have been shut down following a cholera outbreak. The directive was issued by District Public Health officer, Zachary Ochonka saying they had not met the health standards. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba on Tuesday said that the commission would release the presidential poll results through their website and the media but only after the final tally. Chiloba, assured the media that the same results declared at the constituency level will be the same ones they will relay electronically. A Tanzanian politician has been charged with using abusive language. The Chadema party member, Tundu Lissu allegedly referred to President John Magufuli as a dictator. Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s campaign car was seized by Anti-narcotic detectives during a drug operation in Mombasa. The operation saw heroin worth millions impounded. Seven suspected drug traffickers were arrested with a half a kilo of heroin and 4.5 million shillings in cash. Police took possession of seven vehicles which were parked in the Nyali compound where the raid took place. One of the seven vehicles, a Toyota Crowne, was part of Hassan Joho’s campaign motorcade. A national Presidential survey conducted on 16 to 19 July indicates that the President, Uhuru Kenyatta will bag the country’s top seat in the first round. The survey shows Uhuru ahead by 54.7% and NASA’s Raila Odinga coming in second with 44.3% 54 per cent of the respondents were male and 46 per cent females. Air France will resume its flights between Paris and Nairobi starting March 2018. Its return was announced on Monday and will operate three weekly flights between Charles de Gaulle and Jomo Kenyatta International using a Boeing B787-9.
