Twenty seven youths from Kisumu have been arrested with pangas on their way to Rabuor where Nyando MP Fred Outa is launching campaigns for his Kisumu senatorial bid. Nyando OCPD Mohamed Amin said members of the public informed them that youths had been seen in a pick-up with crude weapons. Kiambu County’s, Gatundu South constituency according to NACADA leads in consumption of alcohol. NACADA’s report indicated that the most affected are people aged between 18-65 years. “Majority of those abusing alcohol are aged between 25 and 35 followed by those aged 18-24. Legal or packaged alcohol is most common followed by second generation alcohol, traditional liquor and chang’aa,” the report stated. The anti-drugs authority found chang’aa is most consumed in Kikuyu and Juja sub-counties and second generation alcohol in Githunguri and Gatundu North. Moody Awori has lost one of his houses to the government after losing an ownership case that he had filed at the High Court. The former vice president had moved to court to block Kisumu County from repossessing a house belonging to the government that he allegedly acquired in 1998. The High Court, however, did not heed to his request to keep the house and dismissed the case. Kisumu county government was given the mandate to repossess Uncle Moody’s house. An Indian woman has been accused of killing her father-in-law by squeezing his testicles during a row about a cockfight. Police say victim Gau Kerketta dropped dead on the spot after his son’s wife, Anima Kharia, lunged at him and grabbed his genitals like a vice. An unidentified man is nursing his wounds after being shot by a suspected thug in the City Centre on Tuesday evening along Latema road. The police are said to have spotted a suspicious motorcycle carrying four people. They pursued the said motorists to Latema road where there was an exchange of fire. Margaret Njai,  Nyamome primary school pupil on Tuesday drowned in an unfinished swimming pool at a hotel in Suna West sub-county, Migori. In what seemed like a political rally, NASA highlighted some of its pledges on food, corruption and jobs.
