Grace Njeri, 29, and her children Joy Wangare (11) and Maxwell Wachira (five) were brutally murdered by Erastus Kabage, Njeri’s husband, weeks ago. The three were found dead at their home in Muthure village, Kabete after neighbors felt a foul smell leaving their house. The husband Erastus Kabage, a matatu driver is believed to have killed his family members before fleeing. Erastus is said to have used a blunt object and placed the bodies in a sitting position before fleeing the crime scene. Former Mumias Sugar CEO, Errol Johnston, has in a letter linked Deputy President William Ruto to his decision to flee Kenya. The letter was addressed to the chairman of the Board, Kennedy Mulwa, and copied to all senior managers. In the letter, Johnston explained how government officials, including Treasury PS Kamau Thugge, frustrated efforts to revive the sugar company and even obstructed banks from negotiating with the sugar company. Thuita Mwangi, former Foreign Affairs permanent secretary has dropped out of Laikipia governor race. According to County Deputy Returning Officer George Odhiambo, the politician wrote a letter confirming that he was out of the hotly contested race. “Last week we cleared three candidates to contest the gubernatorial race. But one of them, Mr Thuita, has written to us to say he will not be a candidate,” said Odhiambo. The presidential debate scheduled for July 10 and 24, has taken an interesting turn of events. Debate organizers on Thursday made a few changes to the rules. Carl Singleton, a British national who had been charged with the murder of a university of Nairobi student three years ago, has been acquitted. He allegedly committed the crime at their house in Gachie, Kiambu county, on November 19, 2014. Carl had been accused of murdering Agumbi by flushing her life-saving medication for diabetes down the toilet. Carl was arrested three days later but released without charge and later rearrested on February 5, 2015. Faith Chemutai claims that her uncle threatened her with death because she refused to become his sixth wife.
