Government’s Auditor General Edward Ouko has revealed that the Judiciary improperly spent Ksh5.4 million to hire a lawyer for Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu. The Auditor General further stated in the report that lawyer Masha Barasa was irregularly hired as a legal adviser for Justice Mwilu in the 2017/2018 financial year. Six bodies were recovered on Tuesday afternoon at the Tsavo West National Park at Kanga area. The High Court of Kenya has sentenced Morris Logedi Shaban to three years in prison for attempting to offer a public officer a bribe of Ksh7,000. The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) has arrested five suspects and confiscated Ksh8 million worth of fake mobile phones during a raid. According to the authorities, other accessories including chargers, phone covers, batteries and earphones were also confiscated. The High Court has dismissed former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s application following a Ksh213 Million corruption case. In the application, Kidero had requested to be charged separately from the other 10 accused persons. In the case, Kidero and the other suspects of the fraud were charged with conspiracy to defraud Nairobi City County of Ksh213 million.
