An American pastor who was kidnapped by armed men during a church service in South Africa last week has been rescued following a “high-intensity shoot-out” that left three people dead, police say. A man was apprehended for pulling off a daring scam at the Jumeirah Palm Resort in Mombasa. Police said  Samwel Malish booked a three-bedroom short term rental for two weeks but vanished into thin air without paying a dime. The White House budget office has proposed eliminating funding for United Nations peacekeeping missions, citing failures by operations in Mali, Lebanon and Democratic Republic of Congo, according to internal planning documents seen by Reuters.
