The Taliban government has removed books written by women from the university teaching system in Afghanistan as part of a new ban which has also outlawed the teaching of human rights and sexual harassment. At least ten people have died and 25 others injured after a fire broke out in a high-rise building in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital. An immigration judge in the US has ordered the deportation of pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil to either Algeria or Syria, over claims he omitted information from a green card application. Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson announced a major reduction in the county’s ballooning pending bills, saying his administration has cut the figure from Sh119 billion to Sh83 billion.
