Constable Bor collapsed and died as he was training at the Magadi General Service Unit’s National Police College – Magadi Field Campus on Saturday, officials said. Two people died and almost 2,000 were left homeless when fires engulfed hundreds of shacks in three separate incidents in South Africa’s Cape Town during the weekend, emergency services said Sunday. The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) announced they will start a nationwide starting Monday, April 1. KUCO said that the strike had been prompted by a prolonged neglect by the government in addressing critical matters that affect them. Kenya has deported at least seven Nigerians over claims of drug trafficking, being in the country illegally and being involved in cyber crimes and money laundering. Some Kenyans have been complaining of being swindled of cash in suspicious schemes. These have been linked to the Nigerians. The Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA) plans to amend the law to enable the guards be armed. PSRA Director General Fazul Mahamed said this will compliment their operations. In the coming days, he added, they will introduce in parliament an amendment to Section 53 of the Private Security Regulation Act No. 13 of 2016 which will authorize the issuance of firearms to security guards. At least three suspected bandits were shot and killed in a shootout with police at a village in Lorugum area, Turkana County. A man lost his life in a horrific car crash near Athi River, Machakos County, on the busy Nairobi–Namanga Road on Saturday. 36-year-old Silvester Mutinda was struck by a trailer headed for Namanga.
