Hong Kong police offered rewards of HK$1m (£100,400; $128,000) for information leading to the arrests of five pro-democracy activists. They include Simon Cheng, a former UK consulate employee detained in 2019 in a high profile case. The others are Frances Hui, Joey Siu, Johnny Fok and Tony Choi. Hungary blocked €50bn ($55bn; £43bn) in EU aid for Ukraine hours after agreement was reached on starting membership talks. “Summary of the nightshift: veto for the extra money to Ukraine,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban posted on social media after talks in Brussels. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reviewed downwards prices of fuel products. In a statement, the government agency said Super Petrol prices will effective December 15 decrease by Sh5, Diesel by Sh2 and Kerosene by Sh4.01. A total of 37 officers have died in the line of duty between November 22 last year and November 23 this year. The officers were killed between November 22, 2022, and November 23, 2023, according to the Interior Ministry. Of the 37 officers, 24 were from the Kenya Police Service, 10 from the Administration Police Service, two from the Kenya Prisons Service, and one from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Former Treasury CS Henry Rotich and 8 others do not have a case to answer in the Sh63 billion Arror and Kimwarer graft case, a court has ruled.
