The East African Community (EAC) Chiefs of Defence Forces/Staff Wednesday adopted an exit plan of the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) from eastern DRC. At least 40 Ethiopians were arrested while being transported on motorcycles in Merti, Isiolo County. Police said the men were in the country illegally and claimed they were on transit to South Africa when they were nabbed. The incident happened on Tuesday, December 5 evening at Biligo – Degogicha Junction along Merti Road. There were gunshots at the scene as police approached the scene where the aliens were. A 42-year-old man was found dead in his house in Nairobi’s Kilimani area. The body of Anthony Gakuo was found on his bed at an apartment along Kirichwa road long after he had died. Federal prosecutors have filed tax charges against Hunter Biden, a second criminal case against the US president’s son. The nine-count indictment says he schemed to evade at least $1.4m (£1.1m) in federal taxes from 2016-19. The three felonies and six misdemeanours include failure to file and pay taxes, false tax return and evasion of assessment. A High Court has issued orders suspending the prosecution of Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o. Justice Chacha Mwita issued the orders on Thursday following a petition filed by West Mugirango MP Stephen Mogaka. The orders will remain in force until May 21, 2024. The announcement comes nearly two weeks after Malawi sent 221 young people to work on Israeli farms, triggering a backlash against the government.
