Three suspected thugs were shot dead by police in separate botched robberies in Nairobi. Police say they recovered two pistols from the suspects. According to police, the first incident happened along Juja Road where two suspects were killed as they escaped from a team of police who were pursuing them. A suspect linked to the cold-blooded murder of a detective with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation was Tuesday morning shot and killed in a dramatic shootout in Kayole, Nairobi. Police said John Kamau aka Faruk, was mowed by bullets as he fought a group of detectives who had cornered him at his hideout in Soweto area. This innovative venture aims to provide affordable and accessible cooking oil to low-income earners and empower registered groups who will sell the cooking oil using vending machines. Five people were on Monday injured after two rival groups clashed on a piece of land owned by veteran athlete Kipchoge Keino in Eldoret. The groups engaged in running battles for the better part of the evening forcing police to lob teargas canisters to disperse them. The injured were taken to various hospitals, police said. The groups were among others demolishing structures sitting on part of a disputed 150-acre piece of land. The land is at the centre of a dispute between Kipkorom Kemboi family and Kipchoge Keino. A human rights activist Monday moved to court challenging the directive by President William Ruto to have all government services make payments through one digital payment. He argued the directive is unconstitutional. Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) held a Joint Defence Committee Meeting (JDC) in Mbale Resort Hotel, Mbale, Uganda to discuss among others security issues. A 20-year-old student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology died after falling from the fifth floor of a building in Juja Town. Keith Osoro Moenga a second-year student at the university died at the hostel where his girlfriend stayed after falling, police and witnesses said.
