Police are investigating an incident in which a taxi driver was found dead in his car that had been parked at a petrol station in Hurlingham, Nairobi. The body of John Kyalo, 30, was found in his salon car at the Total petrol station long after he had died. A police officer and a civilian were Sunday arrested as they transported 79 kilograms of elephant tusks in Meru. The two; police constable Harrison Gitonga Kanake from Tutwa Police Station and a civilian by the name Hassan Galgalo were transporting the cargo valued at Sh12 million in a salon car when they were intercepted by a team of police and Kenya Wildlife Service personnel. State Senator John Scott, a longtime South Carolina lawmaker who served for more than three decades, died Sunday after a stint in the hospital, according to Democrats across the state. He was 69. Two men accused of running an illegal sextortion ring have been extradited to the United States, authorities in Michigan announced on Sunday. Three people were Sunday killed in a road accident on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway. This is after a matatu they were travelling in was involved in an accident in the Burnt Forest area of Uasin Gishu county, police said. The Moi Technical Referral Hospital (MTRH) successfully conducted a rare surgery of re-implanting a traumatically amputated hand. The hospital said the patient identified as BK, 35, had his left arm amputated at the wrist following an alleged domestic assault on Tuesday. He was then referred from Sigowet Sub-county Hospital, Kericho, and arrived at MTRH Emergency Department at 4 am and the detached limb was stored in a cool box. Police in Nandi County have recovered 63 bundles of polythene bags. The plastic bags were discovered in a motor vehicle (Registration No. KDA 828K) following a road accident on Sunday. Two of the three occupants of the black Toyota Vanguard succumbed to their injuries. Their accomplice, Rebecca Kerubo, is in custody pending arraignment on Monday.
