Wycliffe was a brother to Kevin Omwenga, who was shot dead on August 21, 2020, in his apartment in Kilimani. Authorities in Burundi are pursuing Kenyan businessman Joseph Mboya Nyamuthe after escaping from custody. Mboya who runs several businesses in Burundi was arrested in April 2021 after he was accused of drug trafficking. A Burundian news outlet, Ishami TV, reports that Mboya escaped from Rumonge Hospital where he was being treated on Friday night. A top official who has been serving as the acting head of finance at the Judiciary has blocked the hiring of a new Director of Finance through court action. According to a local publication, the Employment and Labour Relations Court has stopped the Judiciary from filling the critical position. A report by the Auditor General has revealed that the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) paid Sh17 million in allowances to staff for cheering Bandari Football Club matches. In a report presented in Parliament, KPA is said to have made the payments despite Bandari FC being an independent football club with an independent budget. The Coalition of igbo-British lawyers has condemned Kenya for handing over the leader of a separatist group to Nigeria.
