Drama ensued at Diani Police station in Kwale County on Wednesday after a contingent of Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) stormed the station to rescue one of their own. Machakos County Assembly has passed a motion to rename Mua-Kaloleni road in honour of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s late father Gideon Kioko Kivanguli. The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has introduced a new mobile number prefix in addition to the current ’07’. In a statement on Tuesday, CA Director General Fancis Wangusi said the 01 prefix, with capacity of 100 million subscribers, will be effective immediately. The authority has already issued Safaricom with 2 million numbers, while rival network Airtel has benefited with 3 million numbers. Naftali Kinuthia, the man accused of killing Moi University medical student Ivy Wangechi has been charged with murder. He was accused of planning and executing the murder on April 9 in Eldoret. Kinuthia appeared in Eldoret High Court on Tuesday where he denied the charges.
