Police have launched a manhunt for a suspected quack doctor who allegedly caused death of a patient at a local medical clinic in Gem, Siaya County.
Reports indicate Mark Anthony Olocho, known by Omindo trading center locals as a medical practitioner, fled after his patient, Ngesa odula, went into a convulsion shortly after an injection.
Odula died shortly after the ‘quack’ doctor excused himself to get a vehicle to take him to hospital, never to return.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the victim had sought medical attention at a separate healthy centre but was sent to buy drugs.
However, he was not lucky in several pharmacies he went to, so he chose to pass by Olocho’s clinic. Instead of giving him drugs, the suspect convinced him to opt for an injection.
