A Police officer who was caught on Surveillance Cameras breaking into a building has been charged. According to the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Constable Shadrack Lagat was charged at a Maral court on Monday with the offence of breaking into a building and committing a felony. The officer was positively identified through the police identification parade. The government is in a process of flying to Ethiopia families of the 32 Kenyans killed in the deadly Ethiopian Airlines crash on Sunday. The families are reportedly going to help with identification of the bodies of their loved ones. The Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) has entered a plea agreement with the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to secure release of arrested union officials. In exchange, the workers are expected to resume duty immediately. The officials were arrested on Wednesday after they led demonstrations at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) leading to a near 12-hour disruption of services at the airport. A 37-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly kidnapped an employee of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). Shaban Wangatia Otinda, a resident of Kitengela, is said to have abducted the employee before demanding for a Sh2 million ransom. The officers identified as Philip Thuo Kangethe, Shadrack Josiah Mumo and Joseph Ndiku Mwongela are accused of breaking into a warehouse in Nairobi and stealing.
