The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) should issue Tassia property land owners with title deeds immediately, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko have instructed.

This was after a meeting with the county boss and a section of his cabinet over the land dispute involving Tassia property and landowners and NSSF.

The agency has reportedly demanded for the land owners to part with Sh920,000 each for the construction of roads in their neighborhoods.

The pieces of land were sold in the 1990s, the legislator noted.

“I had noted with much concern that NSSF is not a road construction authority and thus such payments were suspicious, illegal and unjustified owning to the fact Tassia property and land owners had already paid for the said land in which they had already developed properties,” Babu said in a statement.

The governor and the MP have further directed that NSSF refunds any already collected funds with immediate effect.
