The body of a 35-year-old man was found in a river after he had been murdered in a village in Meru County.
Police said the body of Amos Birundu was found along Kanyoro River on March 1 long after his murder.
The body was found with visible bruises on the legs with his trousers halfway removed and moved to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known.
In Oyugis, Homabay County, the body of a 91-year-old woman was found in his bed after murder.
Police said the body of Salome Omolo was found lying dead in her bedroom with visible injuries. Preliminary investigation shows that the deceased was hit at the back of her head with a blunt object. The motive of the incident is suspected to be family land issues. The body was moved to the Rachuonyo County Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy. No arrest has been made so far but police promised action.
Meanwhile, three people drowned in separate incidents reported to the police.
The first incident happened in Kamulu area, Kayole, Nairobi where a 19-year-old man drowned in a water fall.
The deceased was in the company of his friends and were swimming in Kamulu River when the incident happened on Saturday evening.
The body of Michael Maina was retrieved from the water and moved to the Mama Lucy Hospital Mortuary awaiting autopsy.
In Nkoilale area, Narok County, a body was found floating in river Talek within the Talek area.
Police officers visited the scene and established that the deceased drowned while swimming in the said river.
The body was retrieved from the water with no visible physical injuries and moved to Narok County and Referred Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
In Gesima, Nyamira County, a man drowned in the Riamasira stream.
Police officers visited the scene and established that the body of Joseph Ongeri, was still in the water after drowning.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
