Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has been arrested in Nairobi.

The governor who is being accused of corruption and abuse of office is currently at the EACC offices, Integrity Centre.

But Ojaamong says that he presented himself to the EACC, who he says are on a political witch-hunt.

“Presented myself to EACC Integrity Centre, Soon we will be Vindicated. We will not be cowed or be distracted from our constitutional mandate. Constitutional offices should not be used to settle political scores,” he said on twitter.

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji on Tuesday approved the prosecution and arrest of the county boss and nine other county officials over the loss of Sh.20 million.

EACC investigators found that the county boss’ office had single sourced a waste management tender to Madam R Limited.

He is also accused of conspiring to steal more than Sh.20 million from the county coffers.
