    There was shock and disgust at Capital Group after a major fraud was discovered in the company with the CEO Cyrus Kamau being mentioned as the culprit and millions suspected to have been looted.

    According to those in the know, the scandal of missing millions which were from clients and channeled to Cyrus Kamau’s private accounts were discovered after Chris Kirubi’s daughter, MaryAnne Kirubi, ordered for a forensic audit.

    The audit revealed that Cyrus Kamau ran a parallel banking system with cheques from clients paid through accounts with names similar to the company’s but at a different bank.

    Immediately the report was submitted, MaryAnne ordered security to escort Cyrus Kamau out of the building and company moved to have his accounts frozen and key assets impounded. Among the properties impounded are top of the range vehicles which were parked at the International Life House.

    According to insiders, “the Cyrus Kamau’s scandal is worse than us seeing Eve DeSouza being escorted to the lift by bouncers some years back.”

    Celebrating her elevation, Somoina posted this on Facebook a few minutes ago;

    There are ongoing efforts to nab more suspects in the scheme with key links of Cyrus who are still working in the company under close watch.

    Trying to control the leak, “MaryAnne Kirubi has now appointed Somoina as acting MD after bypassing her despite being one of the most loyal, dependable and hardworking employee of the group,” our deeply embedded source intimated.

    Yesterday, Capital Group announced the elevation of Somoina who has worked for the Capital Group for 15 year as head of programmes, as the new CEO.

    The Capital Group sleuths is now focuses on investigating 3 individuals in accounts, administration and HR over the fraud.

    Somoina who was previously married to Ugandan Marcus Kwikiriza is now trying to settle down after the Ugandan left her over claims of infidelity. Marcus recently married his sweetheart, Lois Aber, in a high-end invite-only wedding in Uganda.

    Meanwhile, Somoina was recently caught in a love triangle where she was said to be sleeping with Christopher Onyonka, brother to MP Richard Onyonka, behind the back of the captain’s wife who is her friend.

    Sources within Capital Group have revealed to us that the fraud was so well executed and even though the company paid Cyrus well (salary of Ksh 1.2m together with other perks including house, car, medical and entertainment allowances), that was enough to keep him off from the cookie jar.

    “Cyrus walked from this company with at least Ksh 200 to 300 million within the last few years and nobody was able to detect it. Wherever CK is, he will be healed by efforts to make sure that Cyrus pays for stealing from him. Cyrus will never have peace,” our source revealed further.

    While it is unfortunate to see player Chris Kirubi go through the health challenges and his company stolen from, those who have questioned his integrity over the fraud which brought KENATCO, Uchumi and KQ to their knees. No efforts have been made by the successive governments to hold Chris Kirubi and his associates to account.

    Meanwhile, one of the greatest achievements of Somoina at Capital Group has been to properly sabotage Blankets and Wine which she tried to buy but when Muthoni Ndonga aka Muthoni the Drummer Queen refused to sell, she decided to start a parallel event through the Capital Group and completely kill Blankets and Wine.

    MaryAnne Kirubi now manages her father’s properties as the old man undergoes treatment in USA. She has reportedly been seen at Capital more than 5 times in the last two weeks. This surprised many who have stayed in the company for ages but have never known even how she looks.
