Catherine Siachoque, whose full name is María Alexandra Catherine Siachoque Gaete, is a renowned Colombian actress born on January 21, 1972, in Bogotá, Colombia.

She comes from a family background where her parents are Blanca Gaete and Felix Siachoque.

In her personal life, she has been married to Argentine-Colombian actor, director, and producer Miguel Varoni since 1999, after being together since 1996.

She quickly gained recognition for her talent in portraying antagonistic roles in telenovelas, becoming a staple in Spanish-language soap operas produced by networks like Telemundo.

Some of her notable works include “Las Juanas” in 1997, where she shared the screen with her future husband, followed by collaborations in “La sombra del arco iris” in 1998 and “Learning to Love” in 2004.

Siachoque’s versatility shone through in series such as “Decisiones,” “La Venganza,” “Amantes del Desierto,” “Tierra de Pasiones,” “Te Voy a Enseñar a Querer,” and “¿Dónde Está Elisa?” in 2010, where she took on a lead role as Cecilia Altamira.

She broke from her typical villain typecasting by playing the protagonist Doña Hilda de Santana in “Sin Senos no hay Paraíso” from 2008 to 2009.

More recently, she has appeared in projects like “Reinas de la Noche” on Canela TV, marking a new phase in her career with more honest and diverse roles.

Beyond acting, Siachoque has explored dancing and continues to engage in international projects, including studies at the University of Miami to enhance her English skills for broader opportunities.

    Accolades

In 1997, Siachoque won at the Cartagena Film Festival for her outstanding performance in “Las Juanas.”

The following year, in 1998, she received the Colombian Television Award for Best Actress, sharing the honor with co-stars Angie Cepeda, Xilena Aycardi, and Susana Torres for the same production.

These recognitions underscore her impact on Colombian and Latin American television, where she has been celebrated for her ability to bring depth to challenging roles.
