The Labour Court has ordered for the reinstatement of Kenya Airways’ former finance director, Alex Mbugua.

Mbugua who had been sacked in 2016 was linked to the Sh29.7 billion loss that affected the airline in the 2014-2015 financial year.

According to reports, the former director managed to secure a court order stopping his replacement as the finance director. He argued that he had complied with all the rules and regulations stipulated in his contract throughout his eight year spell at the company.

Furthermore, he accused former KQ chief executive Mbuvi Ngunze of stealing from the company while singling him out as the fall guy.

Justice Monica Mbaru gave the order that Mbugua be re-instated and granted access to the company starting Wednesday.
