Cabinet Secretary for Devolution and planning Mwangi Kiunjuri has denied claims that the girl said to be behind the Moi Girls High school fire that led to the demise of 10 girls at the schools dormitory is his daughter. He said that he had never enrolled a child in Moi girls High School.

He asked the originator of the rumor to withdraw and apologize to the families affected saying that he or she should be compassionate as the wounds for the loss of the girls are still fresh.
