Director of Studies at Kiganjo Police Training College Ms Susan Wangeci Mwangi is on the spot for allegedly extorting trainees at the college.

According to sources within the college, Ms Mwangi collects Ksh2,400 from all the officers in the college for track suits, which turn turn out to be low quality suits. Assuming she makes Ksh1,000 from each of the 1,000 trainees in the college, this amounts to over Ksh1,000,000 in just a single supply.

This desk also learns that the trainees are also forced to buy printing materials (Azar and spectar) from specific company believed to be associated with Ms Mwangi.

Also, for every exam they take, the officers-to-be are forced to part with Ksh200, adding up to Ksh3,000 per head. This is over Ksh3 million for every exam sitting.

In all these payments, it is alleged that no receipts are issued.

Top officials at the college also mint Ksh200,000 from the trainees through a maintenance fee of Ksh200 per trainee, yet nothing is being repaired.

“In case of any breakage, individual officer is forced to cater for the damages, yet nothing is repaired or bought,” adds an inside source.
