The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned Roy Sasaka Telewa, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), to record a statement regarding allegations of possessing unexplained wealth valued at approximately Sh1 billion.

The summons follows a search operation conducted at Telewa’s residence and office on January 8, 2026.
According to the Commission, the operation is part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption, procurement irregularities, and the accumulation of unexplained assets estimated at Sh1 billion, reportedly acquired between January 1, 2021, and January 8, 2026.

EACC is also probing procurement-related irregularities linked to Telewa’s previous tenure at the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC).

Investigators said the inquiry spans multiple public institutions where Telewa has held senior positions.

Telewa has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Council, Head of Procurement at KDIC, and Deputy Head of Procurement at the Competition Authority of Kenya.

The Commission said the search operation yielded critical evidentiary material that will aid ongoing investigations.

Telewa was expected to present himself at the EACC Integrity Centre to record a statement in support of the probe.

Upon completion of the investigations, EACC stated that the findings will inform the next course of action, which may include criminal prosecution if culpability is established, forfeiture of unexplained assets, and confiscation of proceeds linked to corruption.

There was no immediate comment from the accused official over the claims.

The case adds to heightened scrutiny of senior public officials as anti-graft agencies intensify efforts to combat corruption and recover illicitly acquired public resources.
