Eight people including Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s driver have now clocked a week at the Gigiri Police Station cells following the disappearance of the Bishop’s car spare tyre.

According to people close to the ‘servant of the Lord’, her spare tyre got stolen last week on Friday while her new Landcruiser Prado was packed outside the compound in her Runda home.

The Bishop ordered the arrest of everyone in the compound, including his driver, the people who were doing construction at her house and even the neighbors totaling to 10 people. Two were later released.

The investigating officers reviewed the cctv footage which did not yield much since it did not show anyone stealing the spare tyre, meaning that it could have been stolen elsewhere.

Realising that there is no evidence implicating the eight who have not been arraigned in court as per the law, the Bishop now she wants them to pay her Ksh65,000 for the wheel so that they can be released.

The eight are being held against the law which requires that one should be arraigned in court within 24 hours after arrest. The eight have now spent over a week, thanks to the Bishop’s heavy pocket that can manipulate the police as she seeks to acquire money falsely from the innocent people.

Among those arrested include Abedi Mungai (bishop’s Personal driver) Reymond Sewe (casual labourer- construction), Richard Wamamba (general labour), Stephen Kioko (gardener), Martin Muli (gardener), Evan Andama (neighbour’s Gardener) and Edmond Sawe (security Guard).
