The government is in a process of flying to Ethiopia families of the 32 Kenyans killed in the deadly Ethiopian Airlines crash on Sunday.
The families are reportedly going to help with identification of the bodies of their loved ones.
Speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Monday, Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said the government had already contacted 25 out of the 32 families of the victims of the crash.
“Out of the 32 who were onboard the teams have managed to reach out and talked to 25 families, and so we are still got seven to go,” the CS said.
The transportation exercise will be done in collaboration with the Ethiopian Government, Kenya Airways as well as Ethiopian airlines.
The move comes as the identification exercise of the 157 people who died in the crash is expected to kick off.
Besides the 32 Kenyans, others killed in the incident include 18 Canadians, nine Ethiopians, eight Italians, eight Chinese citizens, eight Americans, seven British citizens, seven French citizens, six Egyptians, five Dutch citizens, four Indians, four people from Slovakia, three Austrians, three Swedes, three Russians, two Moroccans, two Spaniards, two Poles and two Israelis.
Belgium, Indonesia, Ireland, Mozambique, Norway, Saudi, Sudan, Somalia, Serbia, Togo, Uganda, Yemeni, Nepal, Nigeria had one passenger each.

Meanwhile, the government of China has grounded all Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets after the crash of the Ethiopian airline that left 157 people dead.
The airline crashed six minutes after it had taken off.
This was the second aircraft of the same model to go down after A Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight in late October killing all 189 people on board.
The China Civil Aviation Authority said that the jets would be grounded until 6p.m to allow precautionary measures as they have “zero tolerance for safety hazards “policy.
In the safety solidarity, the Ethiopian Airlines has also announced that they will ground all the Boeing 737 MAX 8 as an extra safety precaution while investigations into the crash continue.
