Working in Google Docs can sometimes result in extra or blank pages appearing unexpectedly, especially when editing or formatting documents. These unnecessary pages can make your document look unprofessional or affect how it prints. Fortunately, there are simple ways to delete a page in Google Docs, whether it’s blank or filled with content you no longer need. Here is how to delete a page in Google Docs.
- Identify the Page You Want to Delete
First, scroll through your document and find the page that needs to be removed. If it’s a blank page at the end, it may be caused by extra spaces, page breaks, or formatting issues. If the page has content, decide if you want to delete all of it or just part.
- Delete Extra Text or Spaces
One of the most common causes of a blank page is unnecessary text or spaces:
- Click at the beginning of the blank page.
- Press the Backspace key (on Windows) or Delete key (on Mac) repeatedly until the page is removed.
- Alternatively, highlight all the blank space and press Delete.
- Remove Page Breaks
A manual page break may create an unwanted blank page. To delete it:
- Place your cursor directly above or just after the page break.
- Press Backspace or Delete to remove it.
- The document should now flow smoothly without the extra page.
- Adjust Spacing or Margins
Occasionally, large paragraph spacing or formatting settings force a new page:
- Go to Format > Line & paragraph spacing and reduce extra spacing.
- If needed, click File > Page setup to check and adjust your top and bottom margins.
- Delete the Page Content
If the page contains text or images you no longer need:
- Highlight all content on the page by clicking and dragging your mouse.
- Press Delete or Backspace to remove it entirely.
- The page will disappear if it’s no longer needed for layout.
