The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has released new guidelines ahead of the November 27, 2025, by-elections.

In a gazette notice dated October 10, 2025, IEBC Chairperson said all disputes relating to or arising from nominations must be determined within ten days of being filed, and not later than October 21, 2025.

“Disputes relating to or arising from nominations shall be heard and determined at a venue specified by the Commission,” the notice stated.

According to the Commission, nomination disputes may be filed physically at the IEBC headquarters, Anniversary Towers, or submitted via email to info@iebc.or.ke or ppl@iebc.or.ke.

The IEBC further noted that complainants will be notified of hearing schedules through email or phone calls.

The Commission added that the Rules of Procedure on Settlement of Disputes and the Statutory Complaint Form can be accessed through its website at www.iebc.or.ke.

Registration for candidates interested in contesting the vacant seats is currently ongoing.
