Inspector General Joseph Boinet has rubbished a report that was released on Saturday by the International Police association and the Institute for economics and peace. The report ranked Kenya Police number 125 out the 127 countries that were surveyed.

The Inspector General said that the report was untrue and because he did not know the people that conducted the survey and therefore their sources could not be trusted.

The ranking was based on the ability by the police and other security forces to provide security .The Inspector General said that the police have been providing security quite well the past few years.

The Kenya police have been under siege from failure to provide security during the past electioneering where they were seen to be partisan and against the supporters of the opposition where the used excessive force  which allegedly led to deaths and injuries as per reports by the  human rights organisation in the country.

Botswana was ranked best in Africa at number 47 while the global position went to Singapore.
