Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi and his wife Irene Nzisa have sued the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet for raiding his homes in Malindi and Muthaiga without search warrants.
They also seeking anticipatory bail should any arrests be made.
The supposed NASA financier wants the court to block the security officers and the DPP from making way into his places of residence in spite of having search warrants.
In his suit, Wanjigi said that the DPP’s officers broke into his Muthaiga home without a search warrant on allegations that there were criminal activities going on at his Malindi home.
“The raid has been concocted to embarrass and falsely accuse me and is meant to settle political scores,” said Lawyer Jackson Awele.
The tycoon has in the past month said that he has been followed by unknown persons and has fallen victim to ‘untold mental and physiological torture’ by the police.
He accused Boinnet of not taking action.
The police under instructions from Chief Inspector Joseph Gichuki, will raid the businessman’s Caramel Club at ABC place along Waiyaki way.
The officers will also search his Kwacha offices along General Mathenge road.
