High Court Judge Samuel Ndung’u Mukunya, died on Thursday after the vehicle he was driving lost control and hit a canter.
Judge Samuel Mukunya has been a High Court Judge for many years and was based at the Bungoma Environment and Lands Court until recently when he moved to Kerugoya High Court.
He is reported to have been driving a Land Cruiser V8, towards Mwuiga when he lost control and hit the canter. Both vehicles were extremely damaged.

Nyeri Base Commander Castarais Mugo confirmed that the Judge died while he was being rushed to hospital.
“He died while police were taking him to Nyeri County Referral Hospital. We did not identify him immediately. We learned this morning that he was a judge,” he said.
The body was taken to the Nyeri County Referral Hospital Mortuary and was later transferred to Outspan Funeral Home.
