Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) journalist, Jonathan Musau, has lost his son in yet another medical mishap at Shalom Hospital.
According to the media house’s Machakos correspondent, his son, Ethan Muendo, succumbed barely two hours after he was injected by a nurse at the facility.
He narrates that his son had encountered minor burns on Saturday night and were seeking medical treatment to ease his pain.
Musau’s wife, Juliana Mutheu then noted that upon taking their son to the hospital, the nurse administered an injection on Sunday morning.
She noted: “Since the burn was not serious, we decided to take him to Shalom Hospital on Sunday morning.
“We were told to wait for 20 minutes. The nurse then washed and dressed the wound. We went home but the child was weak,” Juliana stated.
Jonathan is now seeking justice for his family, asserting that he will not rest until justice is served.
The body of baby Ethan was then taken to Montezuma Monalisa funeral home in Machakos.
Following the incident, police from Machakos police station on Sunday evening arrested the nurse who administered the injection to the minor.

This incident happened barely two weeks when the facility came to the spotlight after a video went viral of a woman who was left to give birth at the hospital’s reception while nurses enjoyed their tea.
The incident made the county boss Alfred Mutua assert that medical practitioners in his region who will be involved in any case of negligence will face the law.
Investigations are still ongoing on the matter even as officials from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board and Nurses Union also visited the facility.
