The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced an upcoming auction of obsolete, surplus, and unserviceable items at its 22 regional offices across the country.
In a public notice published on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, KeNHA stated that the viewing of items will take place from April 22 to May 16, 2025, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm ahead of the auction.
Interested bidders are required to obtain a bidding number by depositing a refundable fee of Sh50,000 for scrap metal and Sh5,000 for other items.
The deposit must be paid in cash at the designated Auction Centre cash office by 10:00 am before bidding. Deposits made by unsuccessful bidders will be refunded.
Successful bidders will be expected to pay 25 percent of the purchase price immediately at the fall of the hammer, either in cash or via bank deposit into a KeNHA account as indicated in the auction catalogue. The remaining balance must be paid within 14 days.
“Reservations have been made for Youth, Women & Persons with Disability,” the notice reads. “The sale is subject to reserved prices and the goods are sold on as-is-where-is basis.”
Detailed catalogues listing all items to be auctioned are available for free download from the KeNHA website at www.kenha.co.ke and the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) at www.tenders.go.ke.
