In a heartfelt post on her official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, Linda Yaccarino has announced her decision to step down as CEO of X, marking the end of a transformative two-year journey at the helm of one of the world’s most influential digital platforms.

“After two incredible years, I’ve decided to step down as CEO of 𝕏,” she wrote. “When Elon Musk and I first spoke of his vision for X, I knew it would be the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Yaccarino, who was appointed in 2023, has played a key role in reshaping the company during a tumultuous yet dynamic phase. She credited Elon Musk for entrusting her with the mission of protecting free speech, driving a business turnaround, and laying the groundwork to transform X into the Everything App.

Under her leadership, the company focused on:

    • Restoring advertiser confidence
    • Prioritizing user safety, especially for children
    • Launching Community Notes, a user-led content clarification tool
    • Laying the foundation for X Money, a bold venture into financial tech

Yaccarino celebrated the team behind these accomplishments, calling their work “nothing short of remarkable.” She acknowledged the global community of users and partners who stood by X during its evolution, affirming the platform’s identity as “a digital town square for all voices and the world’s most powerful culture signal.”

As X transitions into a new chapter, particularly with the growing influence of xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence initiative, Yaccarino expressed confidence in the future of the platform and pledged her continued support.

“I’ll be cheering you all on as you continue to change the world. As always, I’ll see you on 𝕏.”

Her departure signals the end of an era — but also the beginning of the next phase in X’s ongoing transformation.
