A licensed firearm holder was disarmed after being involved in a shooting drama in Molo Town, Nakuru County.

The incident happened on Friday June 27 night after the man who owns and runs a bar in the town was involved in a clash with one of his revelers, police said.

According to police, the man used his Glock pistol to fire twice into the air to scare the reveler who had earlier on attacked him outside his bar.

Witnesses said the reveler was among those in the Honolulu Club when he picked a quarrel with the DJ over music that was being played.

This angered the gunman, who pushed the reveler out. On reaching the veranda, the said reveler picked up a timber wood from a nearby kiosk and hit him on the hand and his car, which was parked outside.

This angered him before he drew his gun and fired twice into the air.

The attacker vanished from the scene.

The other revelers said the victim was not happy with the music that was being played and he had requested the DJ to change the same in vain.

He then decided to confront him, which led to the drama.

Police later visited the scene and disarmed the man for further investigations.

Cases where firearms holders misuse their weapons have been on the rise amid calls for strict enforcement on the same.

There are more than 15,000 licensed firearms holders in the country.

The licensed firearms holders go through a rigorous process to get permits to own the weapons.
