The personal Assistant to governor Okoth Obado Michael Juma Oyamo has been detained for another 14 days to allow police to carry out investigations on the murder of slain student Sharon Otieno.

Justice Luka Kimaru accepted the prosecution’s application to detain the suspect in Muthaiga police station for 14 days pending conclusion of investigations .

The judge read the purported charges to the suspect where he has been accused of murder of student Sharon Otieno contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code. He did not take a plea.

Justice Kimaru said that the suspect’s counsel and family would have access to him during the day while in detention. The court made it clear that upon the elapse of the 14 days the suspect will be released if no sufficient evidence would have been level against him.
