Moses Kuria Criticizes NCIC For Writing Ledama “Love Letters” Instead Of Taking Action Against Him

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is unhappy with how the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) is handling Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina’s case.

The senator is said to have incited the Maasai community against the Kipsigis tribe in the recent Mau Forest clashes.

According to Kuria, who in the past has spent time behind bars over hate speech allegations, Ole Kina is being “pampered” unlike himself.

“NCIC is writing love letters to Ledama yet when I say something unimportant I am arrested and locked in Pangani Police Station,” Kuria said in a video that has since gone viral.

The controversial lawmaker noted that the utterances by the first time senator should have been treated with a lot of seriousness. Instead, he said, NCIC asked Ole Kina to tone down his language.

“He is begged not to be inciteful. They are sending letters to him the way boyfriend does to their girlfriends. Why is he not arrested yet I am arrested even without a reason? Does it mean this country has special people on matters incitement?” the Gatundu South MP posed.

He also asked the feuding communities to take their battles some place far away from the people and later present the winner.

“Na mimi nataka kuambia jamii zinazozozana, kama mnataka kupigana, sio Molo na sio Njoro, mtafute mahali pengine. Mwende huko chini kwa msitu mpiganie huko, mtuletee mshindi,” he told a Huhoini Catholic Church congregation.

Ole Kina has been vocal about the encroachment of the Mau Forest and was on Monday summoned by the county security committee to record a statement over a widely shared video clip that has been said to be inciting.

The senator denied the claims and maintained that he will not relent in his fight for the interests of the Maasai community.
