Nairobi City County Government is set to implement a digital verification system to combat the increasing issue of people impersonating county staff and harassing city business owners and property developers.

The upcoming Jitambulishe system will give business owners and property developers a simple way to verify the identity of Nairobi County staff before interacting with them.

During a meeting with members of the Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA) at City Hall, Governor Johnson Sakaja disclosed that the Jitambulishe verification system will enable property developers to verify county employees through a digital badge that is connected to their photo and identification.

“The property developers will be able to focus on their operations without worrying about being taken advantage of thanks to the new system, which only lets authorised county staff to do inspection,” Sakaja said.

“This will allow property developers to check whether the person approaching them is a verified staff member. If they are legitimate, you’ll see their name and photo through the online platform,” Sakaja added.

The planned transition to digital staff verification is part of Governor Sakaja’s administration larger plan to digitise operations to ease the mode of doing business in Nairobi City County.

As part of efforts to enhance service delivery, the County Government has extended the service hours of its City Annex service centre for the months of March and April, to include Saturdays from 8am to 12pm.
