Detectives are investigating murder after a naked body of a man was found at the City Park, Parklands in Nairobi.

The body was discovered by member of the public on June 29 at about 4 pm.

Police said the body had decomposed by the time it was discovered while half naked.

The cause of the death of the man was not immediately established, police said as they added investigations into the murder is ongoing.

The body with visible injuries on the face was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

The motive of the murder is also yet to be known.

Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident in which the body of a five-year-old girl was found floating on Ngong River in Komola area, Savanah in Nairobi.

The body with bruises on the head, legs and back was retrieved and moved to the City morgue pending autopsy and identification.

Police said they suspect the girl was murdered and the body dumped in the waters.

In Rumuruti, Laikipia County, a lifeless body of a man who had been missing for weeks was found in a family borehole in Ndurumo area.

The deceased identified as Joseph Mwangi, 24 left his father’s home at Kaaga village on June 11 2025, appearing normal, and did not return home.

He was reported as a missing person on June 27.

The body was found in the borehole by a worker who had been assigned duties there the following day. This was after a bad smell emanating from the borehole disturbed him, he said.

The decomposed body was retrieved and taken to the mortuary.

Police said they are investigating to establish if the man drowned or was killed and dumped therein.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
