Kisii County’s Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda Friday pledged to spearhead an ambitious development agenda aimed at transforming the constituency’s infrastructure and improving the livelihoods of residents.

Top in priority is the construction of tarmacked roads to enhance connectivity, ease movement of goods and services, and spur economic growth.

Jhanda said that poor road networks have for years hindered trade, access to markets, and service delivery in several parts of the constituency.

“We are committed to ensuring that key roads are upgraded to bitumen standards so that our people can move with dignity and do business without unnecessary challenges,” the MP said.

He said already work may start as soon as next month.

“The graders would be roaring at all the scheduled roads soon, watch this space,” he said.

The legislator said his administration has also allocated Sh20 Million for the completion of Ibeno Kenya Medical Training Centre.

“Upon completion, the institution would be operationalized immediately and admit the first patch of students,” he stated.

Beyond roads, the legislator outlined plans to invest in other critical sectors, including education, health, water, and youth empowerment.

He said through CDF he would to continue to support school infrastructure projects.

“This would go along way to ease learning and decongest overcrowded cllassrooms,” he said citing Kari among those grappling with congestion.

The MP reiterated that his office would regularly engage the public to provide updates on ongoing and planned projects, affirming his commitment to accountable and inclusive leadership.

The UDA legislator also promised that modern markets would be constructed in the constituency to facilitate trade.

On electricity, the MP said he was working on 35 projects across the constituency, with 16 projects already completed.

In Nyaribari Masaba, parliamentary aspirant James Mwambi called on residents to remain calm and uphold peace as the country prepares for another round of election in 2027.

Mwambi emphasized the importance of unity and restraint, urging supporters and rivals alike to avoid inflammatory rhetoric and actions that could disrupt harmony in the constituency.

Mwambi noted that Nyaribari Masaba has a history of peaceful coexistence and urged residents to protect that legacy by engaging in issue-based politics.
