The Orange Democratic Movement has sent out demand letters to party members, Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa over utterances that they made which were equivalent to termination of their membership from the ODM Party.

“My office has received complaints regarding your conduct and utterances. The said utterances and conduct are incompatible with your position as a leader elected to the National Assembly on our Party’s ticket”, read the letter.

The legislators are being question over utterances that they made to accuse party leader Raila Odinga and distance themselves from the ODM Party.

It is reported that on 15 July, 2018 Ms Aisha made statements that people should not attack her and that they should attack Raila Odinga who has forgotten all the efforts that the opposition had in store for Kenya and supported the Jubilee Administration.

Mr Dori has also been quoted by several media houses declaring in public forums that the coastal people have been betrayed by Raila Odinga and ODM and should look elsewhere to realize some development.

The duo is also being questioned for missing ODM Parliamentary Group meetings without a reasonable excuse.

The Party’s Director of Communications, Philip Etale noted that the duo has been served with the letters and given seven days to respond to the allegations with reasons why they should not be punished as it is in accordance to article 8 (4) of the Party’s constitution.

“It is therefore demanded of you to within seven days show cause why on the basis of such misconduct and disrespect a disciplinary action should not be taken against you in accordance with Article 8.4 of the ODM Constitution,” the party added.
