Police and witnesses said the Nairobi-bound bus overturned at the Kimende hotspot on the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway on Sunday May 11 morning.

The cause of the accident is yet to be established, police said.

According to a witness, the bus driver was allegedly speeding when the incident occurred after losing the control of the bus christened Climax Coach.

The police say they will talk to the driver of the bus in the Sunday accident as part of the probe into the accident.

The passengers complained of multiple badly injuries. They were rescued by locals who rushed to the scene minutes after it happened.

The accident comes a week after another Climax Sacco bus was involved in a road accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

This is after the bus was involved in a head-on collision with a long-distance truck on the highway.

On February 17, another bus from the sacco was involved in a road crash at Awasi in Kisumu County after it rolled off the road.

Police say they are investigating the incidents and will take necessary action.
