Prince William, born William Arthur Philip Louis on June 21, 1982, is the elder son of King Charles III and the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

As the heir apparent to the British throne, he holds the title of Prince of Wales, a position he assumed following the accession of his father to the throne in 2022.

Career

After completing his education, Prince William joined the British Armed Forces, training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and serving as a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment.

He later qualified as a search-and-rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force, participating in over 150 operations during his active duty from 2009 to 2013, before transitioning to a role as an air ambulance pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance until 2017.

In his royal capacity, William has represented the monarchy at home and abroad, undertaking official tours, state visits, and engagements on behalf of the Crown.

He has also focused on key issues such as mental health through the Heads Together campaign, homelessness via the Homewards initiative, and conservation efforts, reflecting his commitment to using his platform for societal good.

Accolades

Among his highest honors are his appointments as a Knight of the Garter (KG) in 2008 and a Knight of the Thistle (KT) in 2012, two of the most prestigious orders of chivalry in the United Kingdom.

He holds the title of Personal Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Sovereign and is a member of the Privy Council (PC).

In his military career, William earned Eton’s Sword of Honour, the school’s top award for a cadet, and has been decorated with medals including the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, Diamond Jubilee Medal, and Platinum Jubilee Medal.

His environmental work was highlighted with the launch of the Earthshot Prize in 2020, an initiative awarding innovative solutions to climate challenges, which has garnered global recognition.
